29/02/2004 Daryl Hannah and Paul Dano are in final negotiations to join the cast in The King for director James Marsh, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They will be joining Gael Garcia Bernal and Sam Shepard. Production is scheduled to start in March in Texas. Bernal plays a 21-year-old just out of the Navy who tracks down the father he never knew only to find him as a pastor of a thriving Baptist church in Corpus Christi, Texas. With a beautiful wife, Twyla (Hannah), and two perfect children, Mallory and Paul, the pastor wants nothing to do with his lost son, which results in violent and tragic situations. Another new film with Paul being shot currently is West Memphis Three based on the controversial real-life case of three boys tried for a series of brutal murders in Arkansas. Michael Pitt and Jacob Reynolds star in the film written by Curt Johnson. The film will be produced by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky, who made the 1996 documentary Paradise Lost about the same case. Watch out for two forthcoming premieres with Paul: Taking lives will be released March 19th and The girl next door April 9th.
